help - old prints stuck together
Hi
I just opened a box of old prints to find that they have somehow stuck to each other They are RC ilford mg paper of various types dose anybody have any advice as to how to unstick them I was thinking of leaving them in a tray of water & photoflo and see if they magically sort themselves out but any advice would be great thanks robin |

My best advice would be to do just that, soak them, I don't think foto flo would make any difference, just soak them in water and see if they lossen, and when they are saoked mabe just try and ease them apart,
Richard

Same advice here. It may help if you have a tray into which water can flow into and out of the prints.
You might want to try and work out why they have stuck. Prints certainly need to be bone dry before doing any stacking. Mike |

Photo-flo will help a lot, I've always added a few drops of Formaldehye as it'll harden any dmaged emulsion. I did quite a lot of restoration work for a museum back in the early 70's and it's important to take precaution.

I also think the best advise is to soak them in water with a little Photo-flo, but I would advise using distilled water. This combination worked for me when I had some negs stuck together.

I would suggest the same as the others. With or without additive.
