Pretty sure we had a discussion some time back about the weight of a 5x4 kit.
My own comprises 5x4 field camera, 90 150 and 360 lenses, loupe, meter, dark cloth, 6 or 8 film holders, couple of filters, and tripod. I think it came in at about 20 lbs.
A couple of folk had minimalist kit, and came i a lot lighter, but don't expect 5x4 to be more portable than roll film.

My Mamiya kit with four lenses is a fraction of the bulk/ weight of my LF kit (and, if I'm being honest, is quicker and easier to use and makes images just as good, if printing small)

i forgot to answer the question on the intrepid. They have stated that finding neutral can be a pain. the also said that some fiddling was needed to get it running optimally.

Thanks for the link David, I hadn't heard of this company. I'm not in the market for a LF camera at the moment, although like most, I'm sure, I do sometimes wonder about getting one and I like the look of these, along with their prices...

As for the Intrepid, I think you will find it like most branded stuff in general. There are people who will sing an items praises, whilst others will be as negative as possible and of course, those in the middle who don't care either way, as long as somethings cheaper!

Have a search for comments about the Intrepid and you'll see what I mean, but generally you usually get what you pay for, so it quite often means looking at your budget available and then weighing up the pros and cons of an item, in this case a LF camera.

Could be an interesting camera but you'll need to do your homework and find out about whether your 6x12 back will fit.

A somewhat old but decent review.
