Default Bromoil Circle Exhibition

I had the pleasure to visit the Bromoil Circle of Great Britain's exhibition on Tuesday. There are some great examples of this process on display and demonstrations of the process are to be held. It is open from 6th - 26th August 2019 from 11am until 4pm. The venue is Wallsworth Hall in Gloucestershire, see here

Not a location I was aware of previously, if you live close enough well worth a visit as there is a lot of art on display. Demonstrations are on 9th, 11th, 15th, 17th, 18th 22nd, 24th, 25th at 11:30am and 2:00pm.

More details here.

Barry,

Good to hear you visited the exhibition and enjoyed yourselves. The venue looks terrific and Ken Hill's Bromoil demonstrations are not to be missed

Unfortunately, at this time of the year it was a tad too far for me to do but I shall look forward to hearing all about it next time we meet up.

Cheers,

Neil.

Thanks for the info Barry.

I have always love Neils Bromoil prints and would be interested in seeming a demonstration.

Martin,

If you can make it do go and have a look and have a chat to Ken Hill. He is the UK's top Bromoilist and passes on his knowledge freely. If you go it's odds-on he will have you inking up a matrix (Bromoil!) .

Not to be missed!

Neil.

Go if you have time Martin, I think Ken is demonstrating on the 17th and 18th August?

Hi guys

I made the trip to Wallsworth Hall and met Geoff Preece and his wife Viv.

Its an interesting print making method - in theory very simple but in practice it obviously needs great skill to achieve a worthwhile print.

Looking at the prints on the wall there are some really skilful print makers.

I bought the book to give me something to think about.

Yes, Marin, I must admit that the instructions in any book or video I have seen appear to be remarkably simple. Unfortunately I fear as you do, that the old adage applies which says if it was that simple everyone could do it perfectly in 5 minutes

Martin,

Good to hear you made it to the Bromoil Circle Exhibition - Geoff and Viv are a great couple!

The process does need a bit of initial commitment but once the penny drops you are away :-)

Very glad you made the exhibition Martin, something different to contemplate? Interesting venue as well.
