Default Hi from Cambridge. looking to create a community darkroom.

Hi everyone.

I would love totry and set up a community darkroom in Cambridge. I've got more than enough equipment and flashers but just need a space and a bit of help.

Hi Will.

Sorry, but I missed your post and it was only just enabled (first posts are not visible until released by a moderator to assist in blocking spammers).

I don't live anywhere near Cambridge, but very good luck with your plans - sounds like you have a lot of work and planning ahead!

Cheers, Bob.

A somewhat timely post. The local art school (sorry, University of Arts) had an open day today and I stuck my head round the door to bounce around the idea of an "public darkroom". The people I spoke to were certainly open to the idea and the consensus of opinion was that some of the 'fine art' students would be interested.

It might be worth while seeing what courses are being offered by the colleges in Cambridge and if the students would be interested.

Hello Will and best of luck setting up a community darkroom.

I thought there was already a community darkroom in Cambridge?
Maybe it's closed down or I'm mistaken.

Don't be silly... Norwich University of Arts sold off and scrapped their darkroom facilities when they jumped on the digital bandwagon. With some of the photography and fine arts students being encouraged to explore the analogue world, getting rid of the darkroom was a short sighted move.
