Smile Hello from Derby

Hi,
as a new joiner, I thought I'd better write a brief note to introduce myself....
I got my first SLR (a Nikon F301) as a 21st birthday present in 1985 and subsequently acquired a number of other bodies (F2, F3, F4) when I've been able to find them at reasonable prices. In the search for quality, I also picked up a Mamiya 645 Pro TL and eventually an RZ67 (although sadly under-used at present). With the advent of digital, I wondered whether I should let my film cameras go, but as I enjoy the 'suspense' of waiting to see if the images are as I'd hoped (frequently not, but I'll keep trying ), I've decided to keep them and try my hand at developing and printing my own films (which lead me to this forum in my search for a suitable enlarger).
I hope to be around for some time (in the short time I've lurked, I've already come to realise the huge wealth of knowledge that exists here), so hello to one and all!
Best Regards,
Graham.
P.S. sorry for not following the guidelines on user naming - registering really didn't seem to like any combination of Graham* that I tried - if any of the admins can help me correct that, I'd be very grateful!

Welcome to fadu Graham. If you give me a couple of preferred user names I will see if they are free. When I change your name you will have to log in again.

Welcome Graham. I'd have liked a 21st birthday as a present in 1985 but alas I was too old for such a present

The suspense of the negs are still part of the fun for me as well, usually enhanced by the weeks that go by before I develop and the surprise of seeing negs I hadn't remembered taking.

Mike

Norm, I think the original version was 'strong in the arm, wick (meaning 'quick') in the head' (sometimes cruelly changed by or neighbours in Nottinghamshire to 'thick' in the head) - I think I prefer your version
