Quadro Penliners
Has anyone used these? I note that SDS has a few so I had a look at the 5x7 penliner
Looking at the photo of it the inner metal( I assume metal) piece appears a little smaller than the outer frame which I presume has some means of guides so that the 5x7 fits with equal borders on all side. The inner penliner piece appears to have right opening for a penline on 2 sides but the black gap on 2 sides does not appear to go all the way as the black opening seems to end before the corners? Nor is the clear to me if you simply remove the inner part and turn it to form the penlines on the other two sides or simply move it across this making a penline opening on the other two sides Even if none of you are familiar with these Quadro penliners, could you have a look at the Easel sections where there is a photo of the two parts of the penliner and tell me what you see and how you think it works It is the lack of a black opening at the corners that worries me Hopefully my clumsy description above will make sense Thanks Mike |

My understanding is that the inner part is slid diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner.

I think Marty is right.
This is quite a coincidence as last week I bought some sheets of 0.030 inch thick Black Plasticard and the cutter blade. I think the cutter is made by Tenyo. My plan is to fabricate the frame and insert as shown in the photos. The inner rectangular piece will be held in the middle using narrow strips of clear plastic to bridge the gaps. Then a torch will be slowly moved along the gap and a black line will be produced when developed. I thought I had an original idea but somebody beat me to it. Cheers.

Thanks but so far no-one seems to be a user/owner of a Quadro penliner so does anyone have an explanation or idea of what I mentioned about the SDS photo of its penliner where the gap is black along most of the edges but then changes colour at the corners. I suppose it might be just a trick of the light when it was photographed and in fact there is a gap all the way along the 2 sides.
Yes I tend to think that the piece in the middle is just moved from say bottom left to top right to create the second set of lines but that remains a mystery as does the question of where the stops are that ensures the white borders are equal in the first place There appears to be nothing to be found on Google so a call to SDS might be needed Mike |

There seem to be some hand-written instructions for a sold item from the same source.

I think the change in the colour of the line is tape on the other side holding the matching plates together.
The large set on the SDS site has lots of pieces of red sellotape holding them all together. I think that is what you can see in the gaps. Cheers.
