Smile Christmas presents to ones-self

Anyone treating themselves to a Christmas present this year? I thought I would buy myself this book. Bit expensive for the family to shell-out on me. Not strictly photographic buy does contain photographs of various stellar objects, descriptions of telescopes, which after-all are just glorified tele-lenses.

A little light reading, just the thing to while away Christmas Day.

Trevor, that looks like a wonderful book. It is only when you see images like that, it makes you realise how insignificant we are in the scheme of things. As Douglas Adams said in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

I've just treated myself to some books that have been on my list for a very long time. All are being shipped from the US and I can't wait for them to arrive... I don't think I'll bother wrapping them up!

I bought myself a nice little meniscus lens in a copal shutter for a very reasonable price. Looking forward to using it when it clears customs.

Just got it today-a Canon T90, and the electronic cable release, from a camera shop in the west Midlands. £40. Ug? They're twice that much on Ebay... I'm happy.
