I did a quick search for the camera manual online and found a few that have the battery specification depending on whether it is an early or later model.
The original F-1 takes the old PX625 Mercury batteries which are no longer available. You would need a Wien cell or an adapter to takes a more modern battery. If it is the later Canon F1-N it takes the PX28 also known as a 4LR44. These are available. This later model was introduced in about 1981. If you are unsure of the model you may get an idea by the depth of the battery compartment as the later battery is much taller than the older one. Also a search of the serial number may provide a model type if there is a listing available. Last edited by Bill; 3rd March 2021 at 10:16 AM. |

Isn't the F1 a manual camera ?
I realise the meter will need a battery but the camera will work fine without. Martin |
