Default 4th and 5th May 2013 Beginner’s Black and White Darkroom

I know there's not many beginners on here but this is the first of a new workshop programme. You may know people who would be interested. Other workshops, some that might fit your level are on the way. There is a full list on my site and on the calendar here.

If you book before the end of April and you tell me you are on FADU when you make contact, I'll give you a 10% discount, that applies to any of the workshops.

Beginner’s Black and White Darkroom

If you’ve never been in the darkroom before, or only when you were at school and you can’t remember that far back. If you would like to experience and practice “alchemy” in the 21st Century, it really is like magic, this is for you. We’ll make photograms and some camera pictures, develop the film, make contact prints, and beautiful finished prints, all your own work to take away and show your friends that you have found the Philosopher’s Stone.

Bring your own 35mm camera if you have one but we have one for each delegate if you don’t.

£150 per person plus materials.

Steven, I'd assume that most potential participants will live beyond travelling distance of the workshop so it might be worth mentioning what accommodation is available within easy reach.

Just a thought

Thanks Martin,

Yes of course Mike. It's in the heart of The English Lake District, above Hawkshead, almost smack between Windermere and Coniston Water, so there is no shortage of accommodation. That said my advertised workshops are in the tourist season. So I wouldn't take too long in looking.

This is a good site

There is a guest house about half a mile up the road.

It's very smart, if you need to be pampered...

or if you're on a budget...

I would quite fancy staying in a yurt...
