Default WTB: Ilford 906 red filter

Has anyone got one or two they are not using? Or have seen some advertised elsewhere.

Please post or pm if you have.

Thanks

Fintan

How quick do you need them? If you are prepared to pay the price the 906 is still manufactured new by Ilford and the distributor is Photologic in Clondalkin, Dublin.I found this on the Ilford website.

Have you looked on the U.K e-bay? They do come up occasionally. Complete Paterson and Photax red safelights are almost always on e-bay and go very cheaply if these would cover your needs.

Best of luck

Thanks Mike, I didnt realise they are still made. I already have a 5x7 and 10x8 safelight both with ilford 902 amber filters and theres a few papers I want to try that need red safelight.

I have been looking on ebay alright, no sign of anything. I got another tip for RK Photographic and I've sent off an email to them.

You're right about the other red safelights, it might make more sense not to be going changing filters.

Thanks for the reply.

I have just found a a guy selling two 5x7 vintage( his words) Ilford filters right now on UK e-bay. Both boxed and in good condition(his words again). He doesn't say what colour they are and I cannot ascertain from his pictures. Might be worth asking the question. It is item 250403275693.

Even if one is red then you might strike lucky. I'd be be surprised if he gets many, may be not even any, bidders as it is simply the filters and not the complete box he is selling. Auction has almost 4 days to run. He's based on Boston, Lincolnshire. Only £2.50 postage in the U.K. A bit more for the Republic no doubt but shouldn't be that much

Thanks for that Mike, I can just about make out 902 and 908 on those boxes, amber and green. So close but no cigar.
