I have noticed that fuji reala is back out (since when)
I thought this was gone for good, i dont shoot colour neg very often but
if i do, it`s reala as this is the best film for colour portraits
The skintones on this film is spot on, and the colours are great too

I can't keep up with what's gone and what's rumour in Fuji material. Can you say what your source was for believing it had gone and what is the source that has given evidence that it is back.

Thanks

Mike

Not sure if it coming or going but several of our sponsors list it.

I've had no trouble getting Reala for the past few years (in 120 and the occasional 35mm).

It has a good reputation for skin tones as I understand it and presumably competes with Kodak Portra so I'd be surprised if Fuji decides to drop it but I've been surprised before and no doubt will be again

Like any other 100 speed film it's main drawback is its low speed for the U.K. light conditions for a lot of the time

My reason for thinking it had gone was not many peoople had it, and
reading somewhere they had stopped making it
But i think it`s been improved ??
Heres one link about it

paddy, the sources on flickr resemble posts seen on other forums. Often these are just a variation of "No product X in my favourite retailer- has it been discontinued?" Within a couple of posts this has become fact and is then discussed for many pages. The respondents who are afficionados of product X are about to reach for the bitter almond pills to end it all when the OP or another user of the retailer says: "Great news, the retailer has got stock in again!

All forums can suffer from this effect. It seems to be in the nature of forums that without malice they make "the ministry of disinformation" look like amateurs

The situation is often made worse by the non communication syndrome of some manufacturers.

It is a pity that things analogue or maybe things in general are like this these days

I wasn't aware it has ever been discontinued - although I've still got loads in my freezer so I shouldn't need to stock up for years. It's pretty much the only colour neg film I ever use (which is rarely). I like the natural colours for landscape work.

Default Info from Fuji about film and reduced product range

I've uploaded the following pdf file which was captured from the Fuji Japan website dated 5th Sept 2011 about some forthcoming discontinuation of current products. Might be of interest.
