Default Film PLus Blue Toner

Hi All,
I was re-reading Rudman's toning book and as a result would like to have a go with Film Plus Blue Toner.

I can't find this via google searches and so was wondering if anyone here knew if this is still manufactured and if so by whom/where etc.

Thanks,
Niall.

Hello Niall,

I believe that Film Plus chemicals are or were made by Liam Lawless an English photographer/alt printer from Cheltenham. Liam I think still posts on the pure-silver mail list (?). There are a few details here regarding an alternative here.

Thanks Barry for the link. It seems to pour at least a little cold water on the idea that blue toning is a very temporary thing and fades in a matter of months. Of course this may depend on the toner and other proprietary blue toners, bought off the shelf may not be as good as the recipe given. I just don't know. In fact what I do know about toning would fit on a stamp.

Mike

Speedibrews used to do a blue toner that was said to be more long lasting than most, I think it was called Porcelain Blue.
I see RK Photographic list several HERE

Porcelain Blue toner produces a very nice final print colour and whilst it will fade in time is much better in that respect than most if not all of the competition.
