Back towards the end of last year I went to test a 360mm Tele Xenar I'd just bought. I was photographing Tornado unfortunately it was running late and while it was sunny it approaching dusk.
Initially the exposure should have been 1/100 @ f11/16 with HP% at 400 EI but as the light kept dropping I kept having to adjust. Eventually it was 1/25 @ f5.5 at approx EI 3200. The truth was the light was dropping so fast the sun partly obscured by the local football stadium, I just had to shoot. I processed the sheet in Pyrocat HD and gave extended development to compensate.. On Friday I printed the negative and what's surprising is for film pushed 3 stops there's no grain on the 12x16 print from a cropped 5x4 negative. Like many others I've found the combination of HP5 and Pyrocat HD is excellent. Ian |
