Welcome aboard Ian. I was thinking about the OMs if I ever get back into 35mm SLRs but I tend to prefer the larger negatives of 120 and 5x4" these days .

Have fun! Bob.

Hi Ian, I agree the Om is a great camera. My X has an OM1 which she does not use that I've been trying to get hold of for years.

Welcome from yet another OM user. I have three OM1 bodies, and bought the first in about 1980 together with several lenses, all still going strong (more than can be said for their owner!)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I wouldn't exactly say I am 'loyal' to one brand. In my time I have owned 7 or 8 OMs; Nikon FG20, F2A, F3; Bronica ETRS, Mamiya 645 Pro TL; Canon EOS 650, 600, 30, 3, 1VHS; Leica M6, Olympus E1 (dslr), Canon G5 and G9 (wife now uses the G9). There, don't think I have missed anything. Oh and my first camera was a Zenit E in 1975.

Of all my favourites are the F2a, the OMs (especially the OM3) and the M6.

They only came in a titanium sort of colour, nice.

In 2004 I mentioned on dpreview that I was looking for one and a guy (unfortunately) replied suggesting he had a brand new, boxed and still sealed one that he wanted $1800 for - at the time less than £900 due to the $/£ currency rates. I say unfortunately as someone else replied to the thread and bought it before I saw the message - if only he had sent me a pm!!

Anyway, I do know a dealer who had a near mint one a couple of months ago. PM me and I'll send you their details if you are interested, I think the wanted just shy of £1,000 for it. I am tempted again as we 'speak' but I really can't justify buying another one. Now if I sold the OM4ti....... (which I may anyway)

Thanks Ian but I think I'll pass on this occasion. That's a lot of film and paper for my existing OMs - and like you I really can't justify it at present much as I'd like to. I've got the TV licence and WEEE tax bills in the morning's post .
