Thanks for the warm welcome all!

Hi Stan. I think the diversity of locations here makes it an interesting place too. There are users all over the world on the Large Format Forum too, but North Americans are the most common. I'm not sure about APUG because it's just so overwhelmingly busy I haven't spent much time there! It's good to get some other points of view, to see images of places I'm unlikely to photograph (at least without a large and specific effort) or even see, to see how things look to people in other places.

Thanks Mike. It's active, but not so active that keeping up with it seems overwhelming, at least. Friendly group here too.

Well I have some but all shot digitally so far. There wouldn't really by much to keep me from shooting 35mm film as long as I left the camera on auto. My 35mm cameras are, so far, all manual focus but infinity should do it and that's easy. But the fact is that flying small airplanes (or aeroplanes - this forum sometimes reminds me of the description of English and Americans as "two people separated by a common language!") without autopilots means you don't have a lot of attention or extra hands and eyes to spare. If the plane is adjusted in trim (nose up/down "neutral point") and properly in rig (alignment of the control surfaces) it will pretty much stay where you put it so it's doable, at least with 35mm and probably MF. I do want to get some aerial shots on film when I can. Between weather, work, and early darkness I've not had much chance to fly during the winter. I really wanted to get some aerial shots into my "farewell to Kodachrome" shooting binge but it didn't work out.
All the ones I have so far are shot either on my iPhone or my old Nikon Coolpix 995 - which gives you some idea of how unexcited I've been about digital since I haven't bought another digital camera since Christmas of 2000!
