Default Hello from JP

Married two children and two grand-children, living in the idyllic village of Charlton just outside of Hitchin , Herts. Retired from the rat race of Pharmaceutical Research last year and now buying and selling old film cameras and books. Own cameras include Nikon F, Leica IIIf, Zeiss Super Ikonta, Ebony 5 x4 and Hasselblad 500CM. All in active use. Rest of my time is spent working for charity by way of exhibiting and selling landscape photographs. Currently supporting the RNLI and Keech Cottage Hospice. Member of Harpenden CC and former member of Shillington CC.

Looking forward to doing more large format work this year with the help of FADU. No dark-room currently as I used to teach B&W printing in Hitchin but the developers knocked the building down and that was that!

Sorry unable to load my photo to my profile..perhaps someone can help.

John Pearce

Hi John and welcome. good work you are doing supporting the RNLI and other charities.

Do you have plans to build a darkroom?

With regard to your photo, I think you need to make 5 posts on FADU, your status then changes from "new user" to "Friend" you can then upload pictures to your profile and galleries.

No plans for a dark-room currently as I stained the bath in our last house with the chemicals. I do have a nice size shed which has possibilities but others in the household have different ideas. Clarks Cameras in St Albans always have a good selection of old enlargers and I'm always tempted. Perhaps when autumn approaches I'll bite the bullet. I do miss it and have never grasped digital printing. Currently I get cibachrome prints from my 6x6 and 5x4 transparencies though its getting expensive in London. Recommendations for printers would be helpful.
