Welcome! You're fortunate to live in an area with so much photographic potential! I'd love to see beyond that darkroom door!

Thanks for all that "Welcome", guys!

I fully understand your wishes to have a look behind that door. So... .

I startet building my own permanent darkroom in late 2020 during the pandemic. It involved removing the old ceiling inthe bedroom, drywall, wiring, venting and plumbing (luckily the kitchen is on the opposite side of the wall). It´s quite limited in space (app. 15x5ft, but 10ft high) os there was quite a lot of planning involved to make it as flexible as possible. Shelf rails are a great help to store materials, place non-permanent dividers etc.

When the local darkroom was closed I was able to get some of the equipment. The sink had to wait for a year in my garden, giving the chili seeds a home. By mid 2021, everything found it´s place in the darkroom. And, yes, like all of you I started with more than enough power outlets... .

Except the sink everything is mobile or fixed at the wall. That gives me the option to project big enlargements on the wall (there is a magnetic board to come).

Maybe planning and erecting the darkroom is worth a separate thread.

Regards, Matti

An impressive use of space there Matti. Clearly a lot of thought and hard work has gone in to it.

I don't know about anyone else, but this is all I see... "attachments pending approval"

Same for me Marty. Presumably a particular moderator has to check them first as he's a newish user, so is not allowed to post them directly yet?

I'm looking forward to seeing them (eventually) though...

Yep - I had to free them from new-user purgatory before they could be seen, but unfortunately I somehow messed it up and only mods could see them . I did it again, properly, and double-checked and they are visible now. You also don't get to see any new user's posts until they have been moderated - it's an annoying but necessary anti-spam requirement I'm afraid. Sorry for the confusion.

Cheers, Bob.

Nice set-up, Matti.
I can see one lamp with a red light, is this your only safelight?
