Default Today's Guardian double page spread

The centre double page spread in today’s Guardian shows an excellent gutsy, grainy B&W picture taken in Kandahar, Afghanistan by Sgt Rupert Frere. I wondered if this was taken on film or a converted digital picture.

A rather naive question, Clive

I suppose that most newspaper prints are nearly as grainy nowadays as they were in the old days but interesting that it appears to choose to convert it into B&W as theatres of war photojournalistic shots always were.

It's also a clue that your are discussing it in the wrong forum.
