Default Peak Focus Finder I No.2000

Hi Guys,

Just got my hands on a Peak focus finder and it's the No. I version with the long mirror and swivelling loupe.

A question for anyone who has this. The rubber eyecup is quite loose and when I pull it off it reveals a bare threaded barrel. Is it supposed to be like that or have I some part missing?

Many thanks in advance.

Mark

Hi Mark
I have a Peak and a Micromega which are identical apart from the name badge, both have the rubber eyecup and the thread when you remove it, as far as I am aware the thread has no other function than to grip said eyecup.

I thought you rotate the eye cup end to focus it on the square target as you look through it.

Correct!, nothing to do with the rubber eyecup or the thread though.

Isn't that thread what is rotating when you turn the eyecup?

The focusing ring and its associated thread are below the eyecup and the thread to which it attaches.

I've never taken the eye cup off mine so hadn't noticed.

Hi Vanannan,

Thanks very much for your replies. I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be like that as the rubber eyecup is pretty loose.

My minds now at rest and I'll be able to enjoy the focuser!!

Best Regards,

Mark
