I too, took a long look at digital and still hankerd after the calling of the darkroom. I still do digital, but less and less now, and appreciate the feeling when something come together with you own efforts rather than from a box of magical electronic tricks.

I still do Colour RA4 mainly but the calling of B&W is still there and that is what I used to get my ARPS decades ago. Those prints are in still as good condition now as they were when I made them.

Film photogaphy slows you down and makes you think what you are doing which is no bad thing so go for it and joing the now growing numbers of film photographers.

When you look at the used camera adverts and some of the more recent products from the likes of Nikon the apparent shutter count on cameras first sold about a year ago (and not top of the range professional models) the state they have done many many thousands of exposures - just how many of these are worth keeping? A picture on film almost always is.

Welcome Tony, from across the pond. I am also relatively new here. I think you will find this a very friendly place, with many helpful people and the occasional touch of dry humour. Best of luck in your darkroom building project. You haven't forgotten how to use it, I assure you. One whiff of Bromophen and it will all come flooding back...the recall, that is
