FADU - a success story
This morning, among the fifteen to twenty New Posts, I counted ten concerning introductions of new members! This place is getting crowded
There is something really comforting and encouraging to see our world of silverbased Photography expanding. And as far as FADU is concerned: the Forum works a wonder, so no change please. Many thanks to administrators/moderators! Peter |

I echo and endorse peterlg's sentiments and thanks to those that put the hard work into keeping FADU on track.

Peter I think as in my own case photographers like the unpredictability and hands on creation that film photography offers, the alternatives are all quite deskilled and if it all goes wrong you just delete and start again so no real opportunity to learn from the mistakes and perhaps develop new methods from happy mistakes.

I'm also new here, and enjoying the banter - and the information - of which there is a wealth.
I've been a professional photographer since 1983, and I was still hand-bashing mono prints till the late 80's - until we got an Ilfospeed. These days I shoot everything on digital, I have to, but over time I've become more and more frustrated about digital imaging, as although the explosion of social medial has brought uncomplicated photography back to the masses, in serious or professional photography it's become more about photoshop than the photography. It's soulless. That's how I see it, which is why I am returning back to my roots, to something which requires skill, and something which provides satisfaction. I'm just in the stage where I am building myself a darkroom and "collecting" the equipment to get my hands wet again. I am hopeful that I should be hand-bashing again - film and prints - by November, and the time can't go past quick enough.....! |

I also agree with Peter, I always enjoy my morning fix logging on to FADU and to see new members so regularly is great.
