Default Hello from California

Hi Everyone,

Former Londoner, living the US since the 80's, first NYC and now Los Angeles.

Just moved into a new place that has a large walk in closet and adjacent bathroom, and with the addition of some dark gray paint and blackout curtains, I have a darkroom, and have now installed an Omega D5 enlarger with a Zone VI cold light head and stabilizer.

My personal work is nearly all film based and mostly b&w; 35 mm: Olympus OM1 and a variety of Canon cameras; MF: Bronica SQ, Holga, and a 1937 vintage Zeiss Ikon 6x9. Also have a lightly used Toya 4x5 which I'll be soon be putting to work.

I found this site while looking for some technical info, and was impressed by all the helpful advice given, and the camaraderie displayed by the members.

Welcome aboard!

A nice wide selection of equipment there - everything from LF to vintage.

I imagine the weather in California is a bit better than here in London at the mo too (brass monkeys are walking around with very worried expressions!)

Cheers, Bob.

Yup, this is a friendly site. Welcome! +1 for the Bronica, +1 for the Canon 35mm, and +1 for the large format cameras. Plenty of very useful information on this site.

Welcome. You look to have a good set-up and range of gear there. I hope the horrendous fires are not too close. We are sitting here in the U.K. in an icy grip at the moment so very Christmas-like but we need to be grateful for this island being a remarkably benign place in terms of weather.
