Hi Andrew and welcome to fadu. I have your book on Night Photography which I made great use of for a project I was working on.

Welcome Andrew. The others have summarised my thoughts exactly. We must have most of the U.K. B&W experts here now which is no mean feat for a relatively small group.

Andrew,

After reading some of the entries on your blog; do any of the UK colleges or universities promote a strong technical basis? I can just imagine how much confusion is caused by students not understanding the technology, whether at the computer or in the darkroom. Questioning motives and meaning can be useful, but is rather premature if one doesn't have at least some technical or craft understanding.

Is there some kind of anti-science agenda amongst whomever develops the courses that precludes knowledge?

Tom
