The print was done using a paterson no 2 filter to give it the warmth which it does have. I have done another print tonight (7x5) at my local Boys' Brigade where I volunteer teaching what I am learning about darkroom photography on a daily basis. (Photo Attached). I have also been to a local camera shop in Sheffield today called Harrisons Cameras and have seen a camera I may buy myself for Xmas and was hopeing. The price is £375 and has:SQ-A body
2 x 120 roll film back
Polaroid film back
Metered Prism Finder
Waist Level Finder
80mm f2.8 Lens
150mm f4 Lens
Speed Grip
Caps
Thanks in advance,
Luke

The new print looks great! I like a Bronica SQ cameras. They are easy to use, and produce good quality images. The deal sounds good as it includes everything you need to tackle a variety of subjects. The advantage of buying from a shop is that you should get a guarantee. Let us know if you decide to buy it.
Alex.

The camera looks like a good deal with all the extras Luke, I like the square format it lends itself to some exciting compositions and as Alex says Bronica is a well trusted brand and will last you a long time. I also think the prints are good.

Looks like a great deal, and MF is a large step up in quality everything is there that you will need to work with, plus the leaf shutters in these cameras make flash work, such as fill in, a doddle as you have sync at all speeds, [lus if later you need to get any more lenses Ect, then they are readily available and reasonably cheap

One of my regrets in photography was not getting in to medium format sooner, and only judging by what you've shown so far, it should serve you well.

Luke I have just done a quick search for a Paterson No 2 filter and wasn't able to find anything.

What does it do that creates this noticeable warmth? I had always assumed that warmth came from either the print developer such as any of the range of warm tone developers, warm tone paper or a toner such as sepia

Anyone else who knows of this filter please feel free to chime in as well

Thanks

Mike

i have never heard of a Patterson N0 2 filter to add warmth, the only Patterson filters I know of are the Patterson MG filters, although I believe that they did a couple of ''effect'' filters such as such as texture type filters, maybe Luke has the MG filters?

I am burning with curiosity and hope to hear from Luke, Richard. I might consider one of these myself once I know how it works. We can only show each other scans on a forum and I always worry that the scan may not be a true replica of the print in reality through no fault of the person doing his best to reproduce an actual print

I have a Bronica SQ with those lenses, and that is a very good deal. They are good cameras as others have said.
