Which anti-static brush?
Which is the best anti-static brush for cleaning negatives?

A dedicated to film lens brush should do but I don't brush my negs - I use an air puffer instead.

Like Neil, I don't brush my negatives but use a Giotos hurricane blower, which is pretty much the same as the one in Neil's link

Anti Static
I use pretty well the same as Richard, but also a new unused 1/2" natural hair paint brush from an artist shop. This loosens dust particles before using the blower. Artificial hair will generate static making the situation worse.
There used to be an anti static gun sold some years ago which was designed to clean records before playing them. I have no idea if they were effective or indeed if they are still available. Apparently it worked with the 'trigger' generating a negative charge which made dust fly off the surface of vinyl records. Update Have a look at these sold by Richer Sounds ZEROSTAT 3 I cannot get a link to work but just type the name into a search bar Last edited by John King; 7th March 2020 at 07:27 PM. |

Actually though at Richer sounds they have one for £39, same make, but obviously a less expensive model. |

Just a footnote on the above: I am not recommending this item, I was just using it as a general example of what's available. I have around three diifferent makes in use in my darkroom and they all do the job very well. Neil.
