Calculating ISO 1
My spot meter only goes down to 12 ISO but i need to calculate for 1 ISO. How many stops of difference is there from 12 to 1? I can't seem to find the sequence

Each step is a half of the stop so 12 to 6 is one stop 6 to 3 is one stop so 3 to 1 1/2 would be one stop so down to 1 iso would be 3 stops, same way the 6 to 12 and 12 to 24 each is one stop, Hope this make sencse

A fraction over 3½ stops. 12, 6, 3 1½ then 1.

If you can read 16 from your meter, then it would be 4 full stops.

I've used a lot of photographic materials that have sensitivity values well below what light-meter dials were designed to accommodate. The easy way out of the problem for me is to set an ISO value that is 100 or 1000 times greater than actual speed. For example with ISO = 1 I'd set 100 and then just multiply the shutter speed suggested by the meter by 100: 1/60 sec suggested, 1.6 sec given; 1 sec suggested, 1min 40sec + reciprocity correction given; and so on ....
