mamiya help
I am thinking about getting a mamiya 645 afd11 ,I know the AF is faster than its predecessors ,and anything newer I cannot afford .I have seen one that I am interested in but don't know a lot about them ,I have been looking for a Medium Format AF camera for a while and the Hasselblad H series is out of my range even if I could afford a body the lenses are to much for my wallet .. so I think the mamiya 645afd11 is the one for me ..if anybody can give me advice on this camera .thanks..

All I can say is all the glass I think is the same as the earlier MF lenses, which are mainly excellent, so no worries there.

I owned one Paul and found it to be a great camera good lenses and fast AF. Its an easy camera to handle and not to heavy to carry around, at the time I owned it I was only using fuji Velvia slide film and used the in camera metering with good results, the only reason I don't have it anymore is that I wanted a Mamiya 7II and couldn't keep both.

I now own a Mamiya 645AFD11 , two film backs plus a polaroid back and some pack film, a 55-110 AF zoom lens and a 105-210 AF zoom lens ,and a 55 2.8 AF lens that needs repair.. The AF is not as fast as my Nikon F5 ,but I didn't expect it to be,But medium format are slower to use anyway ,saying that its a lot more faster than my Hasselblad's.. its fun to use and the lenses give me a total off coverage of 55-210 that should cover every situation and when I get the 55 2.8 that will give me a lens to use in low light and when I don't want to carry a zoom lens ,because one thing is for sure medium format zoom lenses are not small or light.. now its just the fun of getting to know and use the Mamiya properly ...

I think the Mamiya and Pentex 645 AF's both look like a lot of fun. You should be able to burn through film quite quickly and with the added advantage of 16 shots per roll.
Enjoy and let us see some results and share your experience with us when you can too Paul.

I only ever had the rb67 pro s and now the rz67
But i would imagine the newer lens for the 645 af will be top notch Paddy |
