Salvage Code Red!
Hi Les...
I need help with this problem. Thanks to my own stupidity while loading a new film into my 35mm Cannon, i didn't change the film speed setting. This happened because i was using Delta 100 pro at a 200 iso rating. I then shoved in a HP5 plus and in the excitment and not wanting to loose my shot completly forgot to change the setting on the camera. The HP5 was a handrolled film i can purcahse here as it's cheaper when cash is tight, but thus looses the nice fancy barcode that would of canceled this problem. The HP5 had an original iso rating of 400 but is now 200, have i really messed up and lost everything on there? If i can salvage it, HOW? I use Ilford ID-11 film deveoper and there is no info with it that can help me. Please help! I really would like to use the images on this film... Shane D |

Hi Shane, all you have done is give one stop more exposure, I do it all the time. The result of the one stop extra exposure will be to give much more information in the shadows which is good to have. I'd develop the film as normal for I prefer higher than normal contrast negatives because of the type of enlarger I use so I'd suggest that you reduce the manufacturers development time by 15 to 20%. I'm sure that you will be delighted with the negatives.

Thanks Les, I'll be sure to do that, and i think that the higher contrast is really gonna influence the images. Cant wait to check them out.
Thanks again... Shane D |
