Congratulations on the Mk5.

I'm sure you will find it a pleasure to use.

As for ventilation, Vent-Axia do a purpose made darkroom extractor fan - complete with shut-off louvers. They also do a fan controller, inlet grills and a light baffle cover for the fan too. I can vouch for the system being completely light tight, gives a decent level of airflow and is quiet on its lowest fan settings.

Thanks for the tip Martin, I'll take a look. My darkroom is at one end of my attic, next to my workshop, not ideal for dust management. So although I'm starting with a basic negative pressure setup, I might opt for two fans and setup for positive pressure to try keep dust out of the space.

Edit: just checked and that fan is very expensive! about half the price of the enlarger. I've actually bought 6" ducting and a good inline fan which I can place outside the room so it'll be quiet. I should be able to build or 3D print a light trap and add a G4 + F7/M6 filter on the intake vent. Should do the job.

As promised here's a pic

The build is almost complete, some plumbing to sort out. It's in my attic, there isn't much space up there, but I've planned it carefully and I think it's going to work really well. Pretty everything is built with the exception of the drawer cabinet the 504 is sitting on.

Can't wait to get printing again

here it is on Flickr

(not sure if the pic post has worked? anyone advice me how to post a pic?)

Your set up looks good in the picture - much cleaner and more organised than my setup.

To add a pic from your computer directly, in the 'reply to thread' box, when you are writing something or asking a question, just click on the small paperclip icon on the top line of the two lines of other icons.

Easy when you know how eh?

Lets see how tidy it is when I start using it!

Thanks for the tip! I didn't think to do that with the paperclip

Thanks Marty, recent ones are negative scans rather than prints, looking forward to printing them on the 504
