Default Hello from W Sussex

Hi everyone,

I have recently 'adjusted' my two-room flat so that the living room/kitchen is also a relatively well equipped functioning darkroom. It is possible that I am mad.

I had a similar set up at my parent's house before moving out some time ago. Was also paying for a community darkroom, which was extremely good but expensive and a 30 min drive away.

I managed to get hold of an M805, equipped for up to 6x9, which is a joy to use. I think I prefer it to the 504 in the community darkroom. I also have the M601 with colour diffuser set up, but there are too many groceries under it to use.

Looking forward to browsing and perhaps contributing when I've not got the energy to print.

Remembering how much I dislike dust.

p.s. I meant to change my username before hitting send, but forgot as I laughing at how ridiculous it is.

Welcome aboard.

Hmmm... two room flat with a functioning darkroom. Well, far be it for me to argue with someone's self-diagnosed mental condition

If you want to change your username, let me know and I can do that for you. I see "George" is available.

Have fun!

Welcome to the forum, George. The Durst M805 is indeed a lovely enlarger, I also have one. Bt the way, which type head does it have, a diffuser or condenser?

Hi Marty,

My one is the black and white condenser head which take the Bimacon condensers. I am considering making a diffuser to fit under the mirror, but am concerned it'll get a bit hot in there with the 150w bulb.

Thanks

Welcome George. You may be slightly mad as apparently I may be also judging by some comments on another forum but clearly there is nothing wrong with your ergonomic skills if you have managed to create a functioning darkroom in a two room flat.

I have a Durst 605M which is good for 6x6 but if big prints and the negs to go with them is the thing then one capable of 6x9 is ideal.

Mike

Hi George,

I sometimes wonder why I put myself through all the angst and frustration of printing, maybe we're all a bit bonkers.

Welcome to our slightly eccentric world.
