Default Photographing the vernacular

Lovers of the vernacular landscape may enjoy this 10 minute film of Frank Gohlke?

apologies - for incorrectly spelling the title of this thread - can't see how to edit the title

Thanks again Trevor, you are unearthing some gems.

That linked to another interesting film about Joe Deal's show "West and West". An interesting illustration and explanation of exhibition design.

I'm going back to look at some more of those links.

Thanks Steven, interesting stuff. I only became aware of Joe Deal's photography through the recently published Steidl book, 'New Topographics'.

I didn't know it had been published. Is it a new publication or a reprint of the original catalogue?

I'll go and have a look on amazon anyway.

Thanks
Steven

Yes, it's been republished and expanded - super production. Photographs beautifully reproduced and an excellent essay by Britt Salvesen.

I got my copy from Amazon for £25.49, excellent value. BTW the original 1975 catalogue goes for over £1000

Here's the book on the publishers website.
