Default Hasselblad 500c/m Lens

Good evening to you all.

I recently had my Hasselblad 500c/m and 80mm Planar CLA'd. The technician has done a marvellous job, there is just one little snag: he has refitted the bayonet on the front of the lens upside down. The lens hood is now upside down, meaning the Hasselblad label is at the bottom and the 2 little pins at the top. It functions fine, it's just my OCD is suffering! I just wondered if anyone could advise if it's something I can rectify myself, or is it a trip back to the shop - a long way away!

Many thanks in advance. Rob

Are you sure he had the bayonet mount off?

With the rings having three bayonets, all equally spaced, so the hood can be fitted in several different orientations.

Just a thought.

If you can prove the displaced bayonet mount was the work of the person who serviced the item then he/she should put it back to rights.

Can you show another similar lens where the problem does not exist to back up your claim?

That was my point too Paul, the hoods can be fitted in 3 positions, Hasselblad text at the top, bottom or side.

Don't the filters fit on the internal bayonet and the hoods on the external bayonet?

Thanks to all of you for your replies.

I don’t know exactly what he’s physically done to it, but before the Hasselblad text was at the top, now it’s at the bottom. Otherwise the hood is at an angle when locked in place. I’m sure he’ll sort it, it just means a long trip I’d rather not have to make.

Couldn't you just mail it to him? May cost less than the fuel to get you there and back, twice. And all the wasted hours in the car.... Just a suggestion...
