Just in case that rabbit hole didn't lead to Philip Steadman's book Vermeer's camera: uncovering the truth behind the masterpieces. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2001, I can recommend it. I bought it when it came out and, at the time, there was additional relevant material online.

Well the processing went well, although a tiny bit too contrasty for my liking. The 1st film was bog standard FP4+, 12 out of 12 printable frames. The next film was a Fomopan100. I have never used it before and I got one hell of a shock when I poured the developer away - it came out as bright green. It also changed the stop bath to green/yellow and even the fixer had a delicate turquoise tone. After washing there were no more surprises and the negs look quite reasonable too.

The only thing that surprised me was the lens appears to be prone to flare which did surprise me, I wonder if a MC filter would improve it the one I had was only single coated,
