Default Hello from London

Hi everyone.

I'm Heather and I make cyanotypes. I have a darkroom but I have mostly stopped with the proper B&W darkroom and just develop film and contact print onto cyanotype which doesn't require dark

FAQ:
Traditional cyanotype not cyanotype2/Dr.Ware's method - not that it matters
No I don't like tea toning. Nor brown, much. Yes, I like blue.

Hello Heather. Do you still make any standard black & white prints? I made my first cyanotype photogram a few days ago, it was surprisingly effective although I don't think old Epson Archival Matt paper is the best option... I now have some Arches paper to try.

Welcome aboard Heather!

Nothing wrong with blue - not that I have got around to trying any myself yet...

Have fun, Bob.

Tom,

I do rarely (like maybe once a quarter at my current rate of progress...). I don't think my skills are too rusty but it takes quite a lot of time to lightproof everything since I moved... so although now I have a whole bedroom for the dry-side of things, it's probably harder for me to just throw out a quick print like I used to.

I've discovered recently that Arches Platine is the canine's gonads. Highly recommend it. Never had luck with Aquaelle though.

Thanks, Bob, and for your help with getting my account working

Hi Dave *waves* Nice to see you again.

Hi Richard,

You snuck in while I was replying! I hope to figure out the album/gallery thing soon. I assume I'm missing the magical upload button or something since I'm new and not a Friend yet.

Hello Heather and welcome to FADU. I look forward seeing some of your cyanotypes soon. Something I keep meaning to try myself one day but things get in the way! Maybe seeing some of yours will inspire me :-)

Neil.

You have enough posts now but promotion to the heady heights of "Friend" is done by the system on a timer so it can take a few hours to kick in. Barry knows the details .

BTW, this two-tier membership was done to prevent fly-by posters appearing and simply posting dozens of images into the Albums and Gallery - which a few people did - without ever having any intention of using the forum for it's main conversational and educational purposes.
