Default Foma 400

Has anyone used this film successfully at 1600asa? I see development times quoted for 800 and 1600 in the Massive Dev Chart, but I wonder what he results are like? I would welcome anyone's experience on this point before I give it a try. Thanks,
Alex.

I have pushed another film to 1600, my experience with it was a very large grain. I know not much help for the Foma 400 but would suggest that you us a fine/ very fine grain developer to help combat overly large grain production.

I tried it once and never again, I don't mind grain but the grain was almost golfball size, 800 is as far as I would push it, it is a grainy film and pushing it above 1 stop is not worth it, I love the film, only ever use Fomapan, either 200 or 400, but they are not a film for pushing,

Thanks for the advice. I was concerned about grain as it is obvious with this film at 400. I get good results with HP5+ at 1600, but have run out and want to use what I have in stock. I will use the Foma at 400.

Personally I find the grain with Foma 400 35mm to be a nice grain, but developing this film in the Firstcall film developer the grain is relatively fine, there, but hardly noticeable, I use it at 1/19 and develop for 12 minutes also when I have developed in D76 I find the grain is reasonable, although if I think grain might help my subject then I will develop in rodinal and develop for grain
