I treat some of the information on Photrio with a degree of scepticism so what is on there may not be entirely correct.

Hmmmm, a lot of between this and that figure, with nothing spot on about %'s.

I'll carry on waiting for an Ilford statement rather than something being '...confirmed by representatives of HARMAN.'

I think Terry's sentiments about waiting are sensible. The first source seemed to suggest it was 1st May and now emulsive.org are suggesting the 11th May. So accuracy is still missing to an extent.

What I did think but this only adds my speculation to the mix, is that emulsive seems to suggest that the price increases it quotes are those applicable to the IlfordPhoto to dealers increases. Should this be accurate then my inference is that there is no way to know how this will play out to dealer to consumers

The IlfordPhoto site does actually sell to consumers and has its own prices so as we approach the 11th, always assuming that emulsive is correct we might see changes and an announcement on the IlfordPhoto site or we may not. What IlfordPhoto charges its retail customers may bear no or some relationship to the emulsive announced charges that it seems to have been given to it by IlfordPhoto

As I set this all out on paper with its permutations it only makes me more sceptical than ever what can be trusted as accurate news these days

Mike

Nothing new about news being subject to suspicion - I stopped reading the tabloids 30 years ago for that very reason...

The Emulsive article appears to be quoting a Harman contact so I suspect it will prove to be pretty accurate. Paper is not mentioned so it remains to be seen what happens there. But either way, I imagine we will know soon enough.

I am not wealthy but it seems that a modest price increase is a small expense to ensure that Ilford continues in business. Where else shall we obtain our materials?
On looking at the Kosmofoto site I noted the warnings of a new type of hand-luggage scanner and the fogging it may cause. This may be worth its own title.

Like Joe I am not rich, but I would rather pay a bit ore and Have Ilford paper than lose Ilford, I don't use Ilford film, but I do use a fair bit of their paper and have started to use ID11 ,this shutdown must impact on Harman's profit's and without Profit no more Ilford, as for the rate of the increase, I have read different amounts, and from what I read from the origial ilford release it was not that dad and was only the annual increase that always happes every year, so I think it is a case of wait and see, also remember that Emulsive quote the USA rise, and they have different distributors over there here they distribute themselves
