How long before toning?
I'm starting to use FB paper and selenium toner. My darkroom is small and I haven't the room to work through the printing process and then toning in one session so I want to finish the printing and then come back to the toning at a later time.
How long can I leave the prints until I tone them - hours, days or weeks? Is there a cut off point where the print won't tone? I've read some general statements but was looking for some real-world experience. Thanks

Mike,
I tone as I go but you can tone anytime post development, the fibre print will have to be soaked for at least 15mins RC just needs a quick pre-wet before toning. JON

I have toned weeks or months after making the print, sometimes I will know when I press the shutter that the final print will look better toned, sometimes it take a while, but that is no detriment, just make sure that the dry print is well soaked before you tone, and wash well after the toning process,Richard

I have toned prints a year or more after printing, just make sure that they are thoroughly soaked in water before attempting to tone.

I've toned MG III FB prints 20 years later using Viradon with no ill effects. Just pre-soak as other people have said.
