The picture is a pleasant one taken by Mike whilst in one and enjoying his kayaking out in the water. A tad soft in sharpness, as Mike agrees, but the way it was taken makes this understandable and acceptable.

There is a good range of tones and how a 'judge' can say it DOESN'T fit in a competition about 'water', when about a third of the print contains it, I don't know. As it happens I was a judge for a few years and this must be one of the daftest comments I've heard made by a judge!

Received today thank you Derek. It is an intriguing picture of a small cairn balanced atop of a standing stone, in a wooded area. It does indeed look like a figure Very atmospheric, and you've managed to keep detail in the deep shadows despite the bright background, which must have made for an interesting negative?

And arrived today. A print of a couple of sailing boats on the Norfolk Broads. It was printed on Ilford MG Art 300 which has a very rough surface. This really suited the low contrast in the image making it very light and delicate. Thanks.
