I agree with Sven that sharpness is not an issue for me, up to a point. It needs to be sharp enough. But sharp enough for me is a 1980s prime stopped down a couple of clicks. Even on a 24mp camera, it's enough. However, I have used old lenses that weren't sharp enough. Then it matters.

Maybe my TLR 65mm Mamiya lens, out of order for some years now as the shutter broke down. I'm using the 80 instead, nice lens, too.

Favourite lenses? 35mm its my Pentax 35mm f/3.5 that came with my Pentax SV. Its over 50 years old but works great especially after a recent service. For MF its the Bronica 50mm f/3.5 ps. I reolution tested this lens using the USAF chart on FP4+ using a microscope fitted with a graticule to measure the negs. At f/11 it gets 105lpm with my usual processing in DDX 1+6. For LF its my old Schneider 90mm f/8.
