I'm curious. I have been and took a few photos some years ago but I didn't see that "body of water" which appears in a couple of peoples images that I've seen. As I recall the abbey is on the top of a hill. I arrived at dusk and it was closed so I hopped over the wall, did a quick recky around it and took a few images before exiting. So what is that "body of water", part of a bog, a stew pond, a big puddle or what?

It is indeed a pond, since as you correctly say it's on top of a hill, it's source must be dew / and rain fall. Pond
