Hello from Germany
Hi everybody!
I'm Christoph from Germany. Some weeks ago I found back to analogue photography after years of mostly doing digital photography but hardly any photography. One week ago then I made my first print in more than ten years. The following day my enlarger timer quit working when I wanted to show printing to my kids. (I did it nevertheless, just counting and looking to a timer.) Today I hope my Sonoff will arrive So I can use it with Bob's great timer app. I think I will never be a fine art printer. But I hope I get better than I was eleven years ago. I plan also to do lith printing as I always loved it. Maybe that's the true reason why I got back to the darkroom. I build my darkroom up on the floor of a corridor in basement every time I want to use it. It's not very comfortable but I think about getting the best out of it. I hope I can learn a little from the posts in this forum. Christoph |

Welcome to FADU, Christoph. Glad you are printing again and the kids should enjoy seeing prints made. The great things for kids is that they see that darkroom printing is a physical "hands-on" things and might want to try it or bits of it if they are still very young
I am more certain than you about what kind of a printer I will be. I can say with certainty that I will never be a fine printer Mike |

Welcome Christoph.
You mention lith printing. It is something that I am currently experimenting with, currently mixing up various lith developer formulas that I have found, with my store of various chemicals. It is both exciting but also tedious at times, as the processing times can be very long at times, with nothing to see. I too am reading, and maybe purchasing from a German site, which is full of information about lith: https://www.moersch-photochemie.de/ And yes, I'm sure that you will learn LOTS from this site, as we all do. Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome!
Terry, I'm waiting for a delivery from Wolfgang Moersch with "normal" paper and lith developers. I always used his Easy Lith set years ago and will now do so again. I also use his Eco Film Developer for film and the Eco4812 for paper. I always was very pleased with his products and love lots of his works as well. You can see them on his website and on Flickr. |

Welcome to FADU & Hallo Christoph!
You can learn a lot by searching the posts here or simply asking, but I would highly recommend to join the print exchange. Then you will see master prints in your very hands and learn a lot from then. Best wishes, Frank |

Welcome Christoph, my kids loved it in my darkroom over 30 years ago now, but alas not one of them are intrested in it now..I put all my darkroom kit in my attic thinking the kids will use it, but I am the one using it now, I am glad I did not sell it. Its all setup now, I just need to find the time to do some printing.
