I put a few prints through it yesterday evening. I like it very much. Quick emergence time (although not as quick as Ilford Multigrade). Its neutral in tone and gives full blacks in my standard 2 minute developing time. I'm using it at 1:9 but it can be used at 1:4 for faster times. The concentrate has a light yellow colour which is typical of ascorbic acid developers. I'll do some more this evening. It will be interesting to see how many it will do before it dies.

I usually mix my own developers so whether I switch to this for my standard neutral tone developer will depend on capacity and obviously cost.

More to follow as well as Some scans of prints!

I remember Geoffry Crawley of Amateur Photography magazine coming up with a 'green' film developer years ago. (Google tells me that the article was published in AP issue dated 13 September 2008.)

Just searching, I found a link to the formula:
http://forum.manualfocus.org/viewtopic.php?id=11523

Having taken an interest in trying out home made formulas, especially with lith work not long ago, I'll now be on the hunt for a 'green' print one, of which I'm sure there are many to be found online... any that anyone can recommend?

Mike,

I've had a chance to put a few prints through Eukobrom AC (1+9 dil.) using ILFORD MG cool tone fb paper and initial impressions suggest the Tetenal product is slightly cooler toned and higher in contrast compared to the ILFORD MG developer (1+9 dil.). Caveat that I've not had a chance to selenium tone yet.

The blacks look pretty good, although I haven't had time to do side-by-side tests with other developers. I've attached a scan of a print although, as always, a scan is rarely a good indicator of the subtleness of a real print!

This print is on MGIV FB.
