Default Spotmatic SP service

Can anyone recommend a good place to have an original Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SP serviced?

Our "Links" bar leads to a list of repairers, among whom you'll see this firm.

Assuming Harrow Repairs notice is up to date then it isn't currently accepting any repairs due to volumes.

One heavy rain shower does not automatically herald a monsoon but given I have seen a thread on Photrio highlighting the same problem of demand for repairs exceeding supply, then hopefully this is due to covid rather than the start of lack of serviceable film cameras' availability as a result of the demand for film cameras exceeding supply of serviceable cameras.

No directly relevant here but if film use is increasing by an appreciable rate then there has to come a point when there will just not be enough working film cameras available at reasonable prices.

Not a happy prospect

Mike

Instead of complicating things with unnecessary speculation, I'd suggest we just let the OP contact the firm, to find out how things actually are.

You could do an awful lot worse than contacting Protech Repairs who are based in Uckfield, East Sussex. Fair prices and he is fastidious in his work.

Website is www.protechrepairs.co.uk. He sorted out a Nikon F2a for me, adjusting the speeds and meter head
