Default Hi from London

Hi Everyone

A quick introduction from me, Michael, a film user since I was a nipper. Recently, having lost the willingness to pay Metro's prices for B & W prints I have joined a shared darkroom and I am really enjoying the experience. I first started printing in my late teens at school and I find it's a bit like riding a bike - the basics are still there! However, I am looking for a good course in London on darkroom techniques, can anyone recommend one?

Cheers

Michael

Welcome aboard Michael.

Can't recommend any courses, but hopefully someone will have some info.

Have fun, Bob.

Hello Michael and welcome to FADU.

I would check around your local colleges (or those you are willing to travel to) and enquire about photographic courses that involve darkroom work. This is a bit of a long-shot these days but you never know unless you ask.

Neil.

Hi and welcome Michael from another one. I haven't seen our London expert, Trevor Crone, correspond here for a while but if he is still with us then he may well know the London scene for darkroom courses.

Nice that you have access to a darkroom. That's the biggest part of the battle already won

Mike

Hi Michael,

I have also joined FADU today.

I have been doing a bit of research into darkroom courses over the past few days and have a list to share. Some of the courses cost a small fortune (hello, Central St Martins) but there are a few well priced gems in there too. Some are fairly broad, others focus specifically on darkroom practice. I have narrowed my shortlist down to the top three on the list:

http://www.westking.ac.uk/adult-lear....aspx?ID=49417

Good luck choosing your course!
