Yes, I've bought from them a few times. You have to factor in Exchange rates and shipping or the cost benefits may be lost.

The company in question here Jackthehat is expensive compared to well known UK suppliers.

So a The Imaging Warehouse advert is in the headre as I write, they charge £3.49 for a roll of 120 Fomapan 200 compared to the £7.99 of Jackthehat or the 20 rolls at £4.30 each

81p saving per roll for 20 rolls is very significant Savings on Ilford film are even greater Jackthelad 35mm 5 pack Ilford Pan 400 36ex = £33.50 - £6.70 a roll, The Imaging Warehouse £4.39 a roll.

Ian

Interesting, in fact yes you are right as comparing Argos with Currys, PC word with Debenhams, Tesco with M and S all are different, some are cheaper than The Imaging Warehouse but you have not listed them, why.

In fact 3 rolls of 35mm foma 200 are £10.05 from the IW and £17.39 from JTH

BUT I see you have NOT stated that JTH does not charge for delivery, take that into account and the difference between them drops from £7.34 to £2.34 or in fact £0.78 a roll

IF you are going to quote prices then please don't pick and chose what you state, state the whole facts.

Oh and I buy MY film from Warehouse Express in bulk

Please don't reply to my posts without at least looking for yourself. It's listed clearly under film, and then manufacturer it's the only Ilford film listed on that website.

I've just bought 20 rolls at £3.14, postage from Norway added a little but still just around 20p a roll. So over £1 cheaper a roll, as I bought 20 rolls of 35mm as well with similar savings.

Ian
I note you are selective in your choice of supplier, bias perhaps
include others such as AG

Fomapan 200 120 roll film AG OUR PRICE: £4.19 PLUS POSTAGE of £5

JTH inclusive price £7.77 inc. postage
AG Photographic inclusive price £9.19 inc postage

Let's have a level playing field in future please.

You have much time to spend on educating everyone with sound advice perhaps you could do an accurate side by side comparison for everyone of all suppliers including postage charges, in you usual professional way, I am sure we will all appreciate your input.

Plus delivery which is free when ordered at Jackthehat. This also explains why a single roll costs that much. All in all I don't see much discrepancy.

As I said you can't compare film costs per roll if you deliberately fail to state that some suppliers don't charge for delivery, it offers fals comparisons

Here is another

From Process supplies. FOMAPAN 200 120MMFOMAPAN 200. £4.19 PLUS £7.00 postage making one roll £11.19 Jack the Hat in reality does not look over priced when you state the full facts do they

Default let off lightly

The original 'Jack The Hat McVicar' one of the Kray twins sidekicks would not have let you off with just overcharging, he would have taken your kneecaps as well (and probably a few front teeth into the bargain)
