In the sixties I worked in the darkroom of a studio in Tite St, Chelsea. When small and medium-format images required retouching, expensive enlarged duplicate transparencies were made.
The model room was next door and I can vouch for the colossal amount of 'slap' that was used by the visiting makeup artists. It was easier to adjust the hand, face or object than to retouch the transparency. Mr Teller would have had access to this expertise.
