Hi Richard I had thought round about noon. If anyone wanted to attend the tour they start at 2pm, so that would give time for a coffee, and a window for delayed trains etc.

Do you have a preferred time ? I'm only a 10 min stroll away so any time is good for me.

Does anyone have a preferred time, or would noon be reasonable ? Your opinions please guys.

Ian

Using Google I can find some evidence of a Park and Ride scheme, but nothing that says exactly where it operates from, or even if it operates other than at Christmas. Perhaps someone who actually goes into Peterborough can help? I haven't been there for several years even though I work on the outskirts.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to say that we do not have a Park and Ride (except at Christmas ).

There are quite a few car parks in and around the general area of the Cathedral. I have attached a list of the more suitably placed ones taken from the Council web site. All are within a 10 min walk of the Cathedral. Car Haven, Bishops Road, Wirrina, Riverside and Regional Pool are all within a couple of minutes walk of each other, and within I guess a 5 min walk from the Cathedral.

There are also two multi storey car parks attached to Queensgate shopping centre, they have there own web site

http://www.queensgate-shopping.co.uk...r-info/parking

Queensgate is near the railway station and both are no more than a 10 min walk away

Beales department store has a car park to it's rear, on North Street (PE1 2RA) although this may be a bit pricey for a long stay.

Those driving may like to get there a bit earlier as these are all town centre car parks and are used by shoppers, so as the day goes on the spaces might be a bit harder to find.

Hope this info helps

Ian

Hi, I have had a quick wander to have a look at the prices for a couple of the peviously mentioned car parks, here's what I found.

Car Haven - not really any good, as appears maximum stay is three hours.
Bishops Road - long stay £5.50, think it was for up to 10 hrs
Wirrina - £3.00, all day
Regional Pool - Long stay £5.50, think it was for up to 7 hours

Bishops Road car park has a sign pointing to it saying best for Cathedral.

Hope this helps
Ian
