Sad to hear that. My local library has his autobiography which was an interesting read. I thought that the T.V. play called the "Queen's Sister" although principally about Princess Margaret, was probably a reasonably accurate representation of his life with her.

I can still remember the day-off school for the wedding in 1960.

I really liked his photographic style.

A proper photographer - too many famous society photographers were establishment names who happed to use a camera

Gosh, your remark immediately reminded me of the day, too. May Tony rest in peace.

On a lighter note, it's funny how one's memory can retain minutiae, even from 57 years ago: I still recall that the TV commentator on that wedding day (probably on the BBC) was managing the playing of viewers' music requests, during the wait for "important things" to happen. In particular, someone requested "Cathy's Clown", by The Everly Brothers. I don't know why I remember that....perhaps it was a favourite of mine. It eventually made the number one spot in the UK.
