I also like the way the workshop looks as if it has only been recently abandoned or perhaps still in use. We get used to sanitised and ordered displays in 'heritage centres' so that we forget that they were often places of excessive noise, smell and danger to our modern sensibilities.

A worthy addition to my collection.
Thanks, Mike
I'm glad you appreciated the colour; at first I felt it was perhaps a borderline case, but the smokey colour was rather irresistible. I think the mine ceased production in the 1980s, but as you say, it's nice that they haven't sanitised the site too much, it looks like they just walked out of this building. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take any pictures in the actual mine (300 feet down in the cage...) as we had to surrender anything containing batteries because of the explosion risk. The man in charge was unconvinced that my Zenit EM was purely mechanical

I'll post a scan in the gallery later

Just home to find a very interesting print from Mitch. The original idea of a well textured object against a white background has worked nicely. The print also has an element of humour, however, with the surprise appearance of a curious dog.
Thanks, Mitch, I’m very pleased with it. I hope you can put it into the Gallery for others to enjoy.

Just to say I received a lovely print of Bryher in the Isles of Scilly from MikeHeller on Thurs - as well as a nice write up of materials used and
an interesting description of the print.

My print for this month is currently drying and will be posted out tomorrow - I'll post here once its actually gone out

Arrived today. An exciting view of the Menai suspension bridge seen from below the stone arches at one end. I imagine that you had to use the movements on your 5x4 camera to correct this Tim?

The tonality of the stones and water are excellent, but I’m not sure what to make of the overall colour of the paper. It seems to be a variable shade of cream unless I’m-mistaken the sky is somewhat whiter under the arch than to the right.

Hi Edmund - yes, I had to use some front tilt on the movement - you're right about the tonality, in terms of shades of cream, that's one of the reasons I've started to settle on Foma 132, I really like the subdued whites, cream really as you say - going to start trying some sepia/selenium toning trials with it this weekend. Its one of the first negs I've developed in PMK - I seemed to find that grain focussing was really difficult i.e. struggled to actually find it, I usually use XTOL which produces nice grain so its as if the PMK staining is hiding some of the grain - or on the other hand more likely to be my poor shooting/darkroom techniques !
