I love warm tone prints and have tried most w/t papers and developers over the years and I find the combination of fomatone paper(a true chloro bromide still made using cadmiun, I believe) and harman warmtone dev works for me Richard

Retro Photographic are also very good for raw chemicals.

Also some papers have an Ivory base to them which affects the image warmth but Les would know more about that I'm sure.

I tried Fomatone MG for the first time today, lovely paper but I couldnt believe how quick the colour shifts when used with a very diluted Selenium.
I havent tried any WT developers yet but will give it a try sometime.

I shall be trying Kentmere fine print warmtone paper with Ilford warmtone dev tomorrow. With both short and extended dev tmes to see how it reacts. I am looking forward to the experiment - and yes I reckon on being a little sad for trying it...

But thanks for the suggestion all.

Mark

mike, you also won't believe how quickly fomatone bleaches back even in very heavily diluted bleach, almost a case of blink and it's gone, one of the fastest I have come across, and one of the best papers I know of for sepia Richard

Ilford ID-78, once commercially available as a powder developer, it's closely related to the current Ilford Warmtone developer.

Just to second that ID-78 has worked as well as any other warm tone developer I've tried.

My standard print developer for just about anything unless I want really cool tones. I do find that it gives slightly greenish tones with Ilford Warmtone FB which disappears in light (1:9 - 5mins) selenium toning.
